What's this mean?
Summary: Australian black-trash act Deströyer 666 released their album, 'Wildfire' on February 26 via Season of Mist.
Genre(s): Black Metal, Death Metal, Thrash Metal
Record label(s): Season of Mist
It has that cold, dark Black Metal essence but also has that feeling you had while listening to a classic metal album from the early 80’s or late 70’s.
The music sounds even more intense, and even more aggressive than before and is delightfully "in-your-face".
Season of Mist has the potential breakout album of the year on their hands with Wildfire, a release that shows Destroyer 666 at the height of their powers.
It’s a cathartic and angry listen, the kind that will probably result in me crashing as I drive.
Wildfire is an album that encapsulates all of the bloodthirst and lust that has made us love Destroyer 666 for all these years, and whether they are doing a more chilled out epic or a punch-you-in-the-gut rager they are undeniably badass.
Destroyer 666 albums don’t come around very often, but when they do, you’d be wise to savor them.
The nine tracks here are akin to a particularly savage street fight, emphatically summed up by the blistering opening attack 'Traitor'.
‘Wildfire’ is yet another successful record in Destroyer 666’s long history of consistently amazing music.
Rejoice – the wolfpack is finally back, and they’re as hungry as ever.
